If they prefer to do their own thing and not follow a pro, get them supplies or unique ingredients. Rare sea salts, artesian chocolates, and other gourmet ingredients are popular and often not in the everyday budget. This is a great time to allow your favorite chef to experiment. Do not forget serving or bakeware to finish it off.
If no gift stands out, consider getting a gift card. This will give your recipient a chance to shop for themselves. Some believe it is not as thoughtful, but if you purchase a certificate for a store they love, they will have a great time shopping for their gift.
